Holiday Winners For MillPark

December 26, 27 - Joe O’Neill’s Prime Thoroughbreds have been enjoying a hot run of form in recent weeks adding another metropolitan success to the tally at Randwick on Boxing Day with Unique, an improving half-brother to multiple Group I winner Happy Trails.

A four year-old gelding by Henny Hughes (USA) prepared by Kris Lees, Unique scored by half a length over 1600 metres.

A $70,000 Magic Millions Adelaide purchase for Prime Thoroughbreds from the Mill Park draft, Unique has three wins and three placings from just 12 starts with prizemoney just shy of $90,000.

Unique is a half-brother to triple Group I winner and $2.8 million earner Happy Trails and stakes-placed Heart of a Lion being one of four winners from Madame Flurry a winning half-sister to stakes-winner Lake Villa.

Unique will be headed to the Gold Coast next month for the Magic Million Stayers Cup.

Also saluting at Morphettville on Saturday was progressive Starcraft mare Goodfun Girl.

Trained by Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas, Goodfun Girl scored a stylish half length win over 1400 metres.

Passed in at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, the four year-old daughter of Starcraft was retained to race by her breeder Harry Perks and partners and has now won five races and been placed six times from 21 starts earning nearly $140,000 in prizemoney.

She is the first winner for metropolitan winning French Deputy (USA) mare Queen’s Kiss, a grand-daughter of stakes-winner Loving Cup.
